  Christmas Field Service

  on another thread, i read that a few adherents may be traveling (cough-cough) to other cities and wouldn't be able to make field service on christmas day.. what is the likelihood that going out on christmas will be encouraged at the weekend services at the khs?

  ...or do most halls stay neutral on this?

  given what i've read on this forum, i have the impression that disrespecting a day of other's celebration wouldn't be discouraged which annoys the heck out of me..

  Elder for ten years or so. Stepped down (hate that term, implies an elevated status) a few years ago, I too didn't realise it would lead to fading and posting on an APOSTATE website! Still in though. Boooo.

  during a disciplinary procedure, what would the response be if you wanted representation?

  an advocate?.

  why don't they have a group of unbiased men, a prosecutor to present the case against you and an advocate that would represent the accused?

  The answer to that would be that the hs wrote the bible and the bible is used throughout to judge repentance. The real question should be "did the hs inspire the elders manual" as this is FAR more often referenced than the bible in my experience...

  I'm ON that path finkelstein, and I'd love to MAN UP like some people advise, but we all know it's just not always that simple.. I count myself as being very fortunate just to be able to talk with all you folk on here, to get advice, to be able to learn from your many and various experiences, and just make the best of a bad situation..
